hand MLD:: Manual Lymphatic Drainage

The aim of MLD is to move fluid, waste and protein into the lymphatics and increase the movement of lymph through the lymphatic vessels and nodes. This is done with very gentle scooping, stroking, and pumping techniques over the skin and nodes.

What to expect from an MLD treatment:
  •   Reduced swelling
  •   Decongestion of overloaded lymphatics
  •   Stimulated immune system
  •   Relaxation and sleepiness
  •   Reduced pain
  •   Increased bowel/bladder movement (or opposite)
  •   Lower blood pressure
  •   Improved sinus drainage and breathing
  •   Improved skin condition
After your treatment you will be provided with information to help you do Self MLD. The more MLD you have the more your lymphatic system will 'remember' and start to work the way you want it to. After the initial treatment phase most people opt to have MLD with their therapist once a month just to keep things moving!
